An investigation has been launched after a man died following reports of a suspicious incident in Tamworth.
Police were called to Crossfell near to Crowden Road in Stonydelph in the early hours of this morning (January 19).
The man was taken to hospital by paramedics but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A police cordon remains at the scene this evening with an officer on patrol and a police van.
Staffordshire Police confirmed: “Officers were called to reports of a suspicious incident in Crossfell, Tamworth shortly before 5:30am this morning (Tuesday 19 January).
“A man was taken to hospital by paramedics but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
“An investigation into the circumstances is underway.”
A dog walker told BirminghamLive: “They have been here for a while. It is awfully concerning. I am not sure exactly what has happened. It does worry you when you see all this police presence.”
